The tome is a simple weapon and an attack with it deals d4 bash damage. This weapon has the Focus (Knowledge) property.
Focus. If you are skilled with this weapon, holding it does not interfere with your ability to cast a spell with a somatic (S) component. This applies only to spells using Knowledge as your casting ability.
