| Inexpensive arms handed to guards, conscripts, and commoners. A pointy stick is both easily fashioned and makes for a deceptively effective weapon even in untrained hands. |
The spear is a simple melee weapon and an attack with it deals d6 stab damage. This weapon has three properties: Brace, Thrown (4m) and Versatile.
Brace. When a creature you can see enters a space within 1 yard of you, as a reaction you can use this weapon to make one melee attack targeting that creature.
Thrown. You can throw this weapon a distance up to 4 yards as an attack. If you are skilled with the weapon you can throw it a distance up to 12 yards, but when throwing it beyond 4 you don't add your skill level to the attack roll.
Versatile. If you are skilled with this weapon and use it in two hands for a melee attack, on a hit increase the dealt damage by 1.
